City supporter groups have been pressing for a long time for representation on the Safety Advisory Group (SAG), a body that meets three or four times a year to assess risk and advise how matches at the KC should be managed. A fan perspective can enhance and influence positively the SAG’s decision-making.
We are therefore pleased to report that Rob Harmer has been selected by fellow representatives of Hull City AFC Fans’ Working Group to be the supporter representative on City’s SAG. Rob was a CTWD and interim Hull City Supporters’ Trust committee member and, at Saturday’s AGM, was elected to the Board of the Trust.
This appointment came about through the deliberations of the Fans’ Working Group, chaired by James Mooney. We’d like to thank James for progressing this initiative. It is a good example of what can be achieved when a football club works with its fans.
For an example of why fan input into match safety is important, see our recent post here.
