Like all City fans we were sad to hear of the news last month regarding club legend Chris Chilton and his battle with dementia. Following a recent Board meeting, the Trust has agreed to support the Chris Chilton appeal in the following ways:
- HCST will make an initial donation of £222 to the Chris Chilton fund which has been set up to pay for his care. This is a symbolic amount to recognise his record goal scoring achievements in black and amber. You can make a donation to the fund here.
- Until 31/12/20 a donation will be made from the sale of every 1964/65 replica shirt produced by World Retro which can be purchased here.
- The Trust has been donated some memorabilia which we will be auctioning off in the coming weeks/months to donate further funds to Chris’ care appeal.
One of our community partners, Dementia Friendly Hull & East Riding, have already benefited from a £500 donation from the Trust this year.
Dementia Friendly East Riding (DFER) is a charitable organisation which aims to raise awareness and understanding of dementia, and provide activities to support people living with dementia.
DFER is pleased to work in partnership with HCST, and is happy to assist any HCST members and organisations with training and advice on how we can all become dementia friendly.
