Weekly News Update

February 2, 2018
Given results this season, you’d probably have to say that on the pitch the last week has been relatively positive. City produced arguably their best performance under Nigel Adkins to progress to the 5th round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest. This was backed up with a 0-0 draw against Leeds United. The old problem of not being able to put the ball in the back of the net really cost the Tigers as they missed numerous chances to claim what would have been a thoroughly deserved victory. Hopefully the nearing return of Abel Hernandez will rectify those woes and City will rise up the table.
Off the field and quite predictably City waited until the last minute to strengthen and even then it wasn’t anywhere near as much as you would expect a team in a relegation fight to normally do. Angus McDonald arrived from Barnsley and Harry Wilson joined on loan from Liverpool.
This weekend we face a very tough test away at Preston North End. City need wins if they are to stay up and some of those are going to have to come away from home. Safe journey to all those travelling.
Here’s your update from the trust this week…

The amended Election Nomination form can be downloaded here in Word format, and needs to be received by our Secretary by Saturday 24th February, 2018 (So you have plenty of time to consider applying).

Development Review
Bishop Burton was the place to be for goals last Saturday when the under 18 went down 3-6 to Bolton Wanderers.  Hopefully the side will bounce back on Saturday when they travel to Wast Hills to take on Birmingham City in a 12:00 kick off.

Last Friday the under 23 side travelled to Birmingham City and came away with a 0-1 victory thanks to a goal from Greg Olley.
On Tuesday evening a combined development side took on Hall Road Rangers in the County Senior Cup at Bishop Burton.  They ended up comfortable 3-1 winners with Ben Hinchliffe, Greg Luer and Will Annan all finding the back of the net.  The next two fixtures are at home this week.
On Monday they entertain Bolton Wanderers in the Professional Development League, and then on Friday they take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League Cup.  Both of these fixtures are 19:00 kick offs at North Ferriby.
Hull City Ladies
After yet another frustrating postponement last week, the Ladies face a tough test away at Liverpool Feds on Sunday.
The Tigresses won the home game 3-0 earlier in the season so will be confident of making this their 11th successive league win
