Well there’s always next year… A much changed City side slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Millwall in the FA Cup last weekend. For a while it looked like City may continue their impressive form whilst leading through Jon Toral. However, two quick fire goals late on dashed those hopes and the Tigers fell at the first hurdle. The cup obviously is not top priority for the club, especially when there is a sniff of the play offs and hopefully that defeat doesn’t provide any mental setback.
This weekend Sheffield Wednesday visit the KCOM as City look to make it six straight league wins. The Owls are unbeaten in their last four league fixtures so it will be by no means an easy game with the players looking to impress former City manager Steve Bruce before he takes full charge.

City pair win Monthly Awards!
Nigel Adkins and Jarrod Bowen have won the Championship Manager of the Month & Player of the Month awards for December.
Nigel steered the team to take 16 out of the 18 points available, including 3 points at league leaders Leeds United.
Jarrod scored 6 goals in December, with match-winning braces against Queens Park Rangers, Swansea City and Leeds United.
The Trust congratulate the pair on their well-deserved recognition.
North Ferriby United Ground Move Rejected
The Northern Premier League (NPL) have rejected the application by the owners of North Ferriby United to relocate the club.
The owners had wanted to relocate the club to Dunswell Park and also rename it to ‘East Hull’.
The NPL have also indicated to the FA that, as a stakeholder, they can also not support the application for a change of name.
The decision by the NPL can be challenged by an appeal to the FA, and it is understood that the owners plan to do that.

Male Suicide TV Interview
HCST Chairman Geoff Bielby discusses Male Suicide in an interview with Now TV Humber.
Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50, who make up the majority of football supporters.
Geoff’s personal experience with a close family member has spurred him on to find ways which the Trust can engage with local groups such as HeyMIND and DFER to help.

Development Review
Last weekend started well as the under 18 side took on a Bolton Wanderers side at Bishop Burton and emulated the first team by scoring six.
The City goals came from Rob Guilfoyle (3), Dan Hawkins, Tommy Best and Harry Wood in a comprehensive 6-2 victory.
The U18’s are next in action at the KCOM on Saturday, when they take on Wigan Athletic in the FA Youth Cup, following the first team’s game against Sheffield Wednesday. This is a great opportunity to see the stars of tomorrow in action and we hope many of you will stay behind to cheer them on.
On Monday the under 23 side were at home against Leeds United at the Roy West Centre. The game didn’t go their way and despite a goal from Lewis Ritson they went down to a 1-3 defeat (or mauling according to the Leeds United Twitter account!) By the time you read this update they will have also played away at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest (kick off 14:00).
Hull City Ladies
The Tigresses went down to a disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to AFC Wimbledon in the Women’s FA Cup round 3 tie last weekend that was watched by one of their biggest crowds of the season.
City looked rusty after a month of inactivity and the Dons proved worthy winners with their 2nd half display.
This Sunday, they will be hoping for better fortune in their rescheduled Womens League Cup tie away at Bolton Wanderers. It’s a match City are capable of winning to hopefully keep their other cup quest alive.

Annual General Meeting (AGM) Notice
Can all members please note that our next AGM will be held at the William Gemmell Social Club on Saturday 2nd March (n.b. Subject to change should the Birmingham City fixture be moved for TV coverage)
Many thanks to HCST members John Tindall, Tom Irvin & Richard Rooker for volunteering to be part of the Election Management Group for 2019. Their role is to ensure a fair and transparent process for our Board Elections at our Annual General Meeting in March, further details of which will follow over the coming weeks.
The first meeting will be in in January, (to finalise and confirm the election process), and the second meeting mid-February, (to review election nominees) Both meeting dates are currently tbc
Funds available for Local Youth Football teams.

The collapse of the Wembley sale might result in no extra funds going to grass roots football, but don’t worry – funding is available locally.
Several years ago, the then Tigers Co-Operative, now Hull City Supporters Trust, donated £6,000 to support local youth football teams.
