City finally got their first win of the season on Tuesday with an entertaining 3-2 victory away at Rotherham Utd. City could have scored more although it was a good job they found the back of the net three times as there was still more poor defending on show which blighted the team all last season.
The victory over Rotherham was very much welcome after what can only be described as a very abject display against Blackburn three days previous. The less said about that, the better.
This Saturday the Tigers head to recently relegated Stoke City looking for two consecutive away wins. Whilst a six point haul from the two games this week would be a fantastic return we suspect Nigel Adkins would be happy with four points earned. However City should be full of confidence and are capable of a victory.
Safe journey to all those travelling, here’s your update from the Trust…

Development Review
The summer release of players and the call up of so many of last season’s under 23 side to the first team squad has meant that the Development sides currently being fielded are fairly young.
The relative inexperience can be detrimental to results and this week has proved to be a chastening one.
Last Saturday the under 18 side travelled to the capital to take on Crystal Palace (current Southern u18 PDL Champions) and incurred a 5-0 defeat. Whilst on Monday the under 23 side also travelled south to take on an experienced Ipswich Town side and they too suffered a heavy defeat losing 8-0.
Both sides will be hoping to bounce back this Bank Holiday weekend. The under 18 side return to action on Saturday when they take on Ipswich Town at Bishop Burton in an 11:00 kick-off. On Monday the under 23 side will be at their new base of the Roy West Centre when they take on Millwall in a 19:00 kick off. As before, the prices are; member free, adults £4 and concessions £2. We understand that there is parking available at the near-by University.
Needless to say the lads would appreciate your support, so if it is a pleasant evening why not stroll down.
Hull City Ladies
Hull City Ladies suffered a heavy home defeat in their opening league fixture of the season, losing 4-0 to Stoke City Ladies, but the scoreline was not a reflection of the game or their performance
This Sunday they’re at home again and will be aiming for a better result against Derby County Ladies (The first of 3 competitive City v Derby fixtures next week!!)
As ever, a 2 o’clock kick off at the Hull University Sports Ground on Inglemire Lane.
