CTWD welcomes the initiative taken by Steve Bruce

December 3, 2013

City Till We Die (CTWD) welcomes the initiative taken by Steve Bruce, arguably our club’s greatest ever manager, to bring an end to the current situation regarding changing the name of Hull City AFC. We are as keen to bring this matter to an end as Steve appears to be.

CTWD has four stated aims that guides all of its work:

  • To unite all Hull City supporters opposed to the name change.
  • To let the football authorities, media and club’s management know about our opposition.
  • To call for proper consultation with supporters on any change to the club’s identity.
  • To vocally support the team.

These are, and will remain, the aims of our organisation.  If Dr Allam can give us copper bottomed guarantees that his name change proposals will be halted and reversed, then we will have achieved one aspect of our aims. Our other aims will remain.

Will CTWD simply go away?

No – we have a membership scheme that we must honour.

Will CTWD call for a stop to vocal opposition of name change proposals, if those proposals are explicitly and publicly dropped and reversed?

Yes.

Will CTWD react the moment that such an explicit undertaking is broken?

Absolutely.
