What does being a fan of Hull City mean to you?

January 6, 2016

It’s not only Middle Child Theatre Company who wants to know, it’s also academia!

City fan Julie Donald is a lecturer at the University of Lincoln Business School and researching for a PhD.  She is conducting a study of Hull City fans’ personal attitudes concerning support for a football team.  Note – participants must be over 18 years old.

Julie would like fellow City supporters to complete her short survey (which also gives you the option of volunteering for a further interview on the subject).  We hope you’ll give her a hand.

Update 12 February 2016:

The survey is now closed.  Julie was delighted with the response from her fellow City fans and sent us this:

Thank you so much for supporting me in my research into ‘What it means to be a Hull City fan’.  I have now closed down my survey – so the link will no longer work.  I have been overwhelmed by the response rate and in particular by the number of people who have given their contact details for an interview.  As you may appreciate I will not be able to contact all those people who did agree to an interview, so I would like to pass on my thanks for the offer.  I have spoken to many Hull City Supporters’ Trust members and they have been really enlightening with their comments about their support for Hull City and also really favourable in their relationship with the HCST.  I have also spoken to other Hull City supporters who were not familiar with the work and association of the HCST and told them about the work that the group does for not only Hull City but the community.
