Match Preview: Hull City v Tottenham Hotspur

May 20, 2017

City welcome the league runners-up Spurs on Sunday in order to complete the last fixture of the season. What was looking to be a season defining fixture for both sides just a few weeks back is now the flattest of “dead rubbers”, as relegation and the title were both sown up last week.

Silva will be without Maguire, Hernandez and Evandro all of whom are injured. Hernandez pulled up prior to the Palace game with an ankle injury. Maguire and Evandro both picked up injuries during the match at Selhurst Park.

Tottenham played on Thursday evening away at Leicester City, recording a huge 1-6 victory. Harry Kane scored four, and was quoted in his post match interviews that he hoped to keep scoring in order to secure the golden boot award. It doesn’t look like Tottenham will be easing up in the last game of the season.

Spurs have had a  great away record against the bottom-half teams this season – W7-D1-L1. Five of these victories were by at least two clear goals and with their front-three of Kane, Alli and Son all in excellent form, it’s no surprise that the visitors are strong favourites with the bookies and City are priced as long as 6/1 for the home win.
