Hull City News Round Up, 2nd February, 2015

February 2, 2015

Writing these round ups is becoming a grimly depressing pastime. It was bad enough watching City’s witless capitulation at home to Newcastle on Saturday, let enough having to read about it several times over!

The Telegraph noted how Steve Bruce was now a manager under real pressure, the joint favourite alongside Harry Redknapp to be the next Premier League boss to lose his job.

The Daily Mail opted to focus on Ahmed Elmohamady’s outrageous handball, comparing the incident to Diego Maradona’s ‘Hand of God’ goal in the 1986 World Cup.

At least Andy Robertson was man enough to face the press and admit to a horrid mistake that led to the game’s first goal in this Yorkshire Post piece.

Where did it go wrong? Amber Nectar’s Andy Dalton chose to focus on a simple lack of effort from the players in his match report.

City Independent also questioned the team’s desire, and criticised Elmo’s ‘Hand of Clod’ goal.

In the Hull Daily Mail, Brad Rial pondered a question that most City fans have been pondering: what has happened to Tom Huddlestone?

To end on a lighter note, here’s the goal celebration of the weekend from the Africa Cup of Nations.
