#AllamQuotes campaign – 27/01/17

January 27, 2017

The Trust’s #AllamQuotes campaign is determined to expose the current regime’s rhetoric and spin for what it really is. To do this we are simply looking back at Allam family quotes, before then openly and fairly examining to what extent this quote was actually acted upon.

“We have never been a selling club under our ownership. There is no appetite to sell players. They are our best assets and we are in a survival fight. We do not want to weaken the team and we are focused on making additions” (Ehab Allam, 2017).

In the week that has seen the club sell Jake Livermore to West Brom for £10 million, and are seemingly on the verge of selling talismanic player of the season Robert Snodgrass to one of our relegation rivals for the same fee, we think this #AllamQuote speaks for itself…

  • A football club needs everyone pulling the right way unless run as a dictatorship/a business where whatever they guy at the top says goes. Unfortunately football is more than a business which takes a special kind of person to run a club, we have yet to see the allams try and do this.
The Allams should cash in on the gold they have struck with the new manager who already has his name noticed in the premiership now. Feed the club and watch it grow? Without trying to sound out the Allams, are they big enough to run a premier football club or just run a business?
