Weekly News Update

Here is the weekly update of the Trust’s activity and stories on our website.

So it’s the final game of the season and a season we think most City fans will be glad to see the back of.

A promising start that quickly turned into a relegation battle before just enough was done to see City safe and playing Championship football next season.

The match last Saturday against Cardiff was very typical of the season as a whole as City had a few decent moments before conceding sloppy goals and not having enough to come back into it. The Tigers finish off against Brentford on Sunday lunch time and we wish those going a safe journey and an enjoyable afternoon (on a terrace!).

Here’s your update from the trust this week…

Hull City Ballot Update
The Club have finally published an update on the 2nd Ticketing Ballot and other issues

You can read the clubs statement here.

The Trust have released their own statement on the current situation here.

Whilst the HCST Board were drafting our statement, Directors Sue Dyson and Geoff Bielby were in London for two meetings.

Initially the Supporters Direct EFL Trust meeting followed immediately by the FSF EFL Fans Group Meeting.

HCST does not work alone for Hull City Supporters, we share and debate supporters issues with like-minded fans and work collaboratively with FSF and SD. Other clubs reps who attended included Aston Villa, Barnsley, Birmingham, Blackpool, Brentford, Cardiff, Colchester and Scunthorpe to name a few.

All unanimously support HCST on Heritage issues and our ticket prices campaigning over Concessions.

Other major discussion points were Governance issues including Safe Standing and how groups can influence local MPs.

HCST has been active on these for some time and together with Blackpool Supporters Trust we are at the forefront of the EFL Fans movement nationally.

Hull City Shirt Auction in aid of Trawler Memorial Groups
HCST are pleased to announce that some of the shirts worn at the Chelsea game commemorating the Triple Trawler disaster are to be  sold.

The shirts have kindly been donated by the Club to the Triple Trawler Memorial Group who asked the Trust to advise them. We in turn have asked Les Motherby of @HullCityKits to organise the auction.

The funds raised will be split between the four Trawler Memorial Groups

More details can be found here on the Hull City Kits website.

This is an excellent example of the Trust working with the Club and other Fans organisations to benefit the local community and hopefully will lead to many more joint ventures.

EFL – FSF Survey  ‘Stand up for Choice’
Linked to the recent Parliamentary Petition on Safe Standing passing 100,000 signatures, the EFL & FSF are conducting a survey of fans view on having standing areas at venues.

The survey only takes a couple of minutes to do and can be filled in here.

Hull City Ladies
The table topping Tigresses returned to top form last Sunday by beating their main title rivals Brighouse Town 2-0 at the Hull University playing ground.

With 3 games to play our Ladies need just 2 points to secure the title and gain promotion as Champions.

They’ll be going into their away game at Newcastle this Sunday confident of getting the points needed when hopefully their celebrations can begin 2 games early.

Good luck girls!!
