As part of the Newcastle United Supporters Trust’s political strategy Board Members will meet with Clive Efford MP, Shadow Minister for Sport on Thursday 4th December.
The Labour Party have announced plns to give football fans a voice in every boardroom and buy a significant slice of the shares when the ownership of their club changes.
As with many of these things the devil is in the detail. The board want to meet with the author of the manifesto commitment to question him about how he plans to make it work if Labour are elected to Government in 2015. Fan representatives from Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool United and Carlisle United are coming along to the meeting because whilst there may be different issues affecting different Leagues and clubs at different levels, the consistent thing is the need to engage with fans better than happens now.
