Match Preview: Hull City v Manchester United – League Cup Semi Final Second Leg

Part two of City’s first ever League Cup Semi Final takes place on Thursday evening, and it’s the tough task of cancelling out United’s two goal lead from Old Trafford that awaits Marco Silva.

United’s form has dipped slightly after the first leg, notching up two draws in the league, against Liverpool and Stoke.

Mourinho has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Thursday’s game, and if the first leg is anything to go by will field a strong team.

It will be interesting to see if Marco Silva’s fourth signing Lazar Markovic will go straight into the team. The other new recruits Oumar Niasse, Evandro and Omar Elabdellaoui all featured against Chelsea, with the new midfielder and right back looking particularly impressive.

Ryan Mason will obviously be out, and a round of applause is planned for the 25th minute to show support for the midfielder, who will be watching from his hospital bed.

Curtis Davies is doubtful after the Chelsea game, and Ahmed Elmohamady and Dieumerci Mbokani are both still away on international duty.

United are firm favourites with the bookies, with City as long as 6/1 to win on the night. But you never know, If the Tigers can just get an early goal…
