HCST Welcomes Takeover Agreement

2

We are delighted by today’s news from the Hull Daily Mail that a deal to buy Hull City has been agreed between the Allams and the prospective new owners the Dai family.

We note that the takeover has not been formally completed and remains subject to the new owners passing the Premier League’s ‘Fit and Proper Persons’ test. However this appears to be a formality.

We look forward to welcoming the Dai family to Hull City AFC.

  1. I hope the fans can embrace the change the new owners are going to try to bring about. The Tiger is a very strong symbol from a cultural perspective whereas city has no real intrinsic value. I could see the owners pursuing the same path as the Allams in that a Tiger is a very marketable symbol, an owners first objective is to capitalize and profit on an entity he owns. SO beware what we wish for. On the other hand it appears as the owners feel a connection to the sport and may actually spend to win. I hope it’s the latter.
