The Trust’s #AllamQuotes campaign is determined to expose the current regime’s rhetoric and spin for what it really is. To do this we are simply looking back at Allam family quotes, before then openly and fairly examining to what extent this quote was actually acted upon.
“I want to enable more and more people, especially young ones, to actually watch football” (Assem Allam, 2010)
This #AllamQuote, which I am sure many Hull City fans will recognise as dating from just weeks after the Allam family took over the club in 2010, represents a key theme that runs through the Allam family’s ‘legacy promise’, that has simply not been acted upon. Ironically, with this season’s introduction of the now infamous Membership Scheme, the Allam family have made it so much harder for young fans to ‘actually watch football’. Therefore, on the back of this week’s #AllamQuote, we would like to #AskEhab: With this promise in mind, as well as the current average attendance at the KCOM being at an all time Premier League low for the club, how can you justify not offering concession tickets to junior fans, and do you seriously not understand that this ticketing policy is losing the club its next generation of fans?
