The Trust’s #AllamQuotes campaign is determined to expose the current regime’s rhetoric and spin for what it really is. To do this we are simply looking back at Allam family quotes, before then openly and fairly examining to what extent this quote was actually acted upon.
“Whatever differences we may have [the ownership and the fans], we can look at those separately…” (Ehab Allam, 2017).
As we are sure many of you are now aware, last week saw Hull City’s Vice-Chairman Ehab Allam give a rare video interview through Hull City’s official YouTube channel. Despite the in-house interview not really providing fans with any new information, with answers clearly being rehearsed, polished and edited, the Trust sincerely hopes this can be the start of a more transparent period at the club. During the 18 and a half minute interview, Mr Allam discussed the club’s decision to replace Mike Phelan with Marco Silva, his transfer policy, and, briefly but significantly, the current mood of supporters.
In this vein, the Trust would like to take a slightly different tack this week, and #AskEhab to simply to build on this interview, live up to this commitment, and rebuild the relationship between the club and the fans through the opening of a honest and transparent line of dialogue. As we have stated in the past, as the largest independent Hull City fan group, we are available to meet at a time and place to suit Mr Allam, with the aim of starting to reforge relationships and pull together for the benefit of Marco Silva and the team.
